Liutaio Alberto Cassutti
Alberto Cassutti, born in Padova in 1977, studied the violin at the Conservatory of Padova, with M° V. Prato and D.Nordio, from 1990 to 1994. He received his degree as a Chemical Analyist in 1997, followed by a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padova in 2000.
He continued his studies at the International School of Violinmaking in Parma under the guidance of M° Renato Scrollavezza, graduating in June of 2004.
Since the year 2000 he has been an assistant at the atelier of M° Lazzaro in Padova.
Continually refining his craft, in 2004 in Parma he attended the “1st Niccolò Paganini Violin Convention - Masterclass “Set-up & Sound Adjustment" from the M° Guy Rabut (New York) and again at Parma in 2008 the “5th Niccolò Paganini Restoration Workshop – Varnish Retouching” instructed by Hans. J. Nebel (NewYork).
In 2006 he travelled to London for a year, dedicating himself to expanding his knowledge of the craft and refining his techniques at Bridgewood & Neitzert and subsequently at the workshop of Florian Leonhard.
Returning to Italy in 2007, he resumed the demanding work of construction and restoration in the Atelier Lazzaro. Mr. Cassutti is now deeply involved in restoration techniques and collaborates full time with M° Lazzaro, restoring and making fine stringed instruments.
