Liutaio Francesco Piasentini
Born in March 1976 in Padova. At a young age, Francesco Piasentini learned the basics of wood carving from his grandfather. His passion for music began in early adolescence and deepened as he studied both classical and modern guitar.
In 2001 at Padova he received his bachelors degree in Materials Engineering. His thesis was titled: “Qualification of the materials for harmonic tables in lutherie”.
While composing his thesis he began his specialized studies by attending the A. Stradivari International School of Lutherie in Cremona, where he earned the title of “Journeyman Luthier” in June 2001.
Following his graduation he began working at M° Lazzaro’s atelier, alternating his job at the bench with research activities and professorship at the universities of Padova and Ferrara.
Since September 2006 he has dedicated all of his time to violinmaking, becoming a full time member of Lazzaro’s workshop staff, collaborating in the construction of new instruments and restoration.
